OHFD Eng-3 moved & covered station 2 area as SFD operated on Center Street in the village. OHFD crew cleared by 09:30.

OHFD RP-2 was requested just nine minutes into a working house fire at 201 W. Roswell Ave. RP-2 & Car 2 arrived 4th and were put right to work by command. After placing several ground ladders the crew put in service a 3" Blitz Fire line on the "C" side of the 2 1/2 story home to start to control the fire which now consumed the entire 2nd floor and attic.Crews were hampered by low water pressure and very cold temps as it was well below zero out. Units cleared by 07:30hrs. All occupants and pets escaped the intense blaze.

OHFD would like to congratulate Firefighters Carlos Carrasquillo & Mike Campbell for passing the NFPA 1001 course. This is an advance basic fire fighter training program held at OCC. They both put in over 120hrs. The course was held over the last 6 months. This is a Nationally Certified class in all aspects of fire fighting, EMS, Haz Mat, SCBA, ropes & knots and everything in between. "Great job men"

Adian Orzell & Kaitlin Cash recently completed the NY State Basic Fire Fighter class. This class was held over the last 6 months and included class room and hands on training in fire fighting, EMS, Haz-Mat, ladders, ropes & personnel safety. "Great Job" The OHFD has an explorer program for 14 & 15 year olds and a restricted active member "RAM" fire fighter program for young adults ages 16 & 17. Stop in to our station any Monday night between 6:30-7:00 to learn more. OHFD is very proud of these two members for all the hard work they have done to complete this 75+ hour class.

OHFD is pleased to announce our newest EMT Nor Rizak. Nor completed the 6 month course which included over a 120 hours of class room and hands on training along with six ambulance ride outs. "Way to go Nor"

Secretary Suzzette Yeager's last day was today. She was with us for over 2 1/2 years. She was our office admin person handling all our paperwork incoming to the office.All of us here at OHFD will miss you and good luck in the future.OHFD welcomes Suzettes replacement, Wendy Shuron.

OHFD along with area departments responded to Ferrante Hall for a possible fire on the roof. Units arrived and made there way to the third floor and roof to find that new generator had caught on fire. Units extinguished the fire and checked for extension. Responding units were; OHFD Cars 2, 3, Eng-3, Taunton Car 3, Ladder 5, Fairmount Cars 1, 3, Truck 1, Solvay Eng-22, Camillus Eng-94. OHFD Car 2 "Garofalo" had the command. Damage to building was very minor and all units cleared in 1 hour.

OHFD along with surrounding departments paged out for an odor in Ferrante Hall. Units arrived and after an investigation found fumes from the exhaust of a new generator on the roof to be the cause of the problem. After making sure there was no other problems units cleared in 45 minutes.
